Jason Koon wins big in the Triton Series Jeju 2019

Almost $40MUSD were awarded in the Triton Super High Roller Series Jeju 2019 in 7 events (one more event was scheduled), a tournament series that fulfills the promise of having the best high-stakes action in the world. Members of the partypoker Team Pro (Jason Koon and Timofey Kuznetsov) smashed the series winning 3 of 7 events.

Triton SHRS Event #1 — No Limit Hold'em, Short Deck Ante Only HK$250,000 ($32k)

37 players (with 28 re-entries) created a prize-pool of $1,9MUSD for the first Triton SHRS Jeju 2019 event. Justin Bonomo won the tournament after defeating a final table who included players like Ben Lamb and John Juanda. The final heads-up was played with Yue Hsiang who won HK$3,300,000 ($420kUSD) while Bonomo cashed HK$4,600,000 ($580kUSD).

Triton SHRS Event #2 — No Limit Hold'em, Short Deck Ante Only HK$500,000 ($63k)

The first event was only a warm-up as the event #2 doubled the buy-in from HK$250,000 to HK$500,000. 69 buy-ins (45 entries and 24 re-entries) created a massive pool of HK$32,430,00 ($4,1MUSD). The 8-handed final table had the presence of Isaac Haxton and Jason Koon, but the Chinese Devan Tang beat all and won HK$9,730,000 ($1,2MUSD) after a heads-up battle against Peter Jetten. 

Triton SHRS Event #3 — No Limit Hold'em, 6-Handed HK$500,000 ($63k)

The event #3 drawn the attention of 49 players, and with 32 re-entries the prize pool raised to HK$38,070,000 ($4,8MUSD). The final table had again the series ambassador Jason Koon who ended up in the 6th place; the Malaysian player Cristopher Soyza defeated Sam Greenwood in the final heads-up to win HK$11,150,000 ($1,4MUSD).

Triton SHRS Event #5 — No Limit Hold'em, Short Deck Ante Only HK$1,000,000 ($127k)

The event #5 (the event #4 was not played) surpassed the $100kUSD buy-in and had 37 players (44 re-entries), making an impressive prize pool of HK$76,140,000 ($9,7MUSD). Devan Tang, John Juanda, and Wang Jun made the final table, and finally, Jason Koon emerged victorious, cashing HK$22,300,000 ($2,8MUSD).

Triton SHRS Event #6 — No Limit Hold'em, Main Event HK$2,000,000 ($254k)

The Triton SHRS Jeju Main Event drawn the attention of 32 players (16 re-entries) and was the tournament with the largest buy-in ($254kUSD) of the series. Timothy Adams won the event after defeating Bryn Kenney in the final heads-up and Isaac Haxton ended up in the 6th place. HK$90M ($11,4MUSD) was the prize pool awarded among the players.

Triton SHRS Event #7 — No Limit Hold'em, Triton Refresh HK$1,000,000 ($127k)

Only 22 players (3 re-entries) took part in the event #7 of the series, who saw again Jason Koon winning the tournament. The 4-handed final table was composed by Stephen Chidwick, Paul Phua, and Michael Addamo. Koon cashed HK$7,640,160 ($973kUSD) to complete an amazing $4,5MUSD profit in the tournament series.

Triton SHRS Event #8 — No Limit Hold'em, Short Deck Ante Only HK$1,000,000 ($127k)

23 players attended the last-minute call from the event organizers to play an additional HK$1,000,000 tournament, making a prize pool of $HKD34,780,00 ($4,4MUSD). The professional Timofey "Trueteller" Kuznetsov from Russia won $1,8MUSD after winning to Robert Flink ($1,2MUSD) in the heads-up.

Triton Super High Roller Series Montenegro 2019

The second stop of the 2019 season of the Triton SHRS is already announced: the Maestral Resort & Casino in Montenegro will host the best high-stakes action from May 4h to May 16th. The schedule is still unconfirmed but soon the Triton organization may announce the largest buy-in tournament ever, as promised the year before.
